These gentle techniques can help shift you from fear to harmony in a surprisingly short time.

1. Repeat “I don’t need to think about that!”
This powerful phrase, shared by Abraham Hicks, has become one of my go-to tools for redirecting my mind when I’m overwhelmed or stuck in negativity.
Simply repeat to yourself:
“I don’t need to think about that right now!”
Say it as often as needed. It works.
Here’s a personal story of when I first used it – and how it helped me shift quickly when I needed it most.
The Storm and the Talk
One morning, I was scheduled to give an important public talk to a group of guests who had experienced mental health challenges. I wanted to show up as my best self—grounded, present, and heart-centered.
But the night before, a storm had torn down our fence, and it was leaning heavily against my young trees. I rushed out into the wild weather to prop it up, soaked and windswept, trying to prevent damage to my beloved garden.
Instead of preparing for the talk, I was consumed by thoughts like:
Insurance… fix the fence… protect the plants… how much will this cost?
I knew I needed to shift—fast.
After stabilizing the fence, I remembered Abraham Hicks’ wisdom and began repeating:
“I don’t need to think about that right now.”
Over and over.
It worked. I centered myself, returned to my heart, and gave the talk with clarity and compassion. It was a huge success—and they invited me back.
Reflection Point:
You can always return to those other thoughts later—when you feel more relaxed and have a clearer perspective.
You have the power to choose what you focus on.
2. Clock Face Technique
This beautiful method from Abraham Hicks helps you gradually shift your mindset by writing your way to a better-feeling thought.
How it works:
- Draw a clock face with numbers 1 to 12.
- In the center, write the thought that’s been looping in your mind—the one that triggers a negative emotion.
- Beside number 1, write a truthful sentence that feels slightly better.
- Continue this process around the clock, each sentence building gently on the last.
By the time you reach number 12, you’ll likely feel lighter, clearer, and more empowered.
This technique is especially helpful when you’re stuck in fear, doubt, or immobilizing beliefs. It’s worth the time—and you deserve the relief.
3. Let a Butterfly Take Your Thoughts Away
This is a visualization I teach in my workshops to support meditation and mental release.
Imagine a butterfly landing softly on your hand.
Feel its delicate touch.
As it lifts off and flies away, allow your thoughts to follow it—light, effortless, and free.
This gentle imagery helps you let go of thoughts during meditation, especially when they feel persistent. It’s a beautiful way to return to stillness.

Listen to Your Body Wisdom
