Open yourself up for more love

Think of a time you gave love to a child, or a pet in the past.  How did that feel?  Notice how they received your love without expecting to give anything back in return.

Are you looking for strings to be attached when someone offers you love in some way?

If so, now is the time to open up and allow yourself to receive more love!

This article will show you how.

Reflection Point:

Just for a moment, close your eyes and imagine you are standing under a waterfall of love.

Abundances of sparkling love… breathe it in… soak it up… take your time to allow this love to completely fill every cell of your being.

Affirm: I allow more love in my life!

1.  Remember How It Feels To Be Loved

When we recall the moments we felt loved in the past, we open ourselves up for more.  We manifest that which we think about, in accordance with the Universal Law of Attraction.

It feels good to re-remember the times which brought you the most joy and felt love.

Reflection Point:

Think back to a moment in time, when you remember feeling loved. It’s so lovely to reflect on… hold on to that feeling.

Affirm: I allow myself to reflect on the many moments I felt loved.

Savouring the feeling of love from the past, opens you up to allow more.

My step daughter Jaala had a cat called Milkshake. I was never really fond of cats, but Milkshake soon won my heart.  I was ill and bedridden for a week when Milkshake first came into our lives.  He knew he wasn’t allowed in the bedroom, so he sat at the doorway looking at me.

In the end I gave up that rule and beckoned Milkshake to come in.  The whole time I was sick, his body was curled around my feet.   I felt so much comfort and love from him.  From that moment on Milkshake received many special treats… and was allowed to sleep on my bed.

Milkshake manifested more love… and so had I.

2.  Uplift Your Thoughts

Our thoughts play an important role in the size of the funnel we have to allow love into our lives.  Are your thoughts making you feel uncomfortable or fearful in some way?  If so, these are the ones which need addressing.

It is so helpful when you are equipped with techniques to help change those repetitive negative thoughts. Let’s reflect on a thought you have been running which feels ugh!

Reflection Point:

Decide on a thought you have which isn’t at all helpful to you. You have the power to change this thought, and in doing so, it changes the way you feel. The solution is at hand in my Blog Article How to uplift your thoughts to feel better, with a process called the ‘Clockface Technique’.

Once you practice it, you can use it for virtually any situation where your thoughts need uplifting, and in doing so, inspires your actions to come from a higher intention!

Affirm: I release fears and barriers and allow myself to change my thoughts, so I feel better inside.

When we uplevel our thoughts, it eases our heart.

A thought which came to my mind when I held a workshop at my home with a little group was “I’m not a very good business woman”.

This thought is not at all helpful when my intention is whole heartedly to be confident, professional and successful in my service to others.

Thanks to the Clockface Technique, that thought never enters my mind, and I’m only focused on the intention of love I project… as this is all I need to do.

3.  Update Your Beliefs

Are your current beliefs nurturing you?  In many ways, a belief is really a thought which you keep thinking. Understanding this is helpful, because they don’t seem quite so rigid after all.

Treating it as a thought, putting your belief through the paces in the ‘Clockwork Technique’ mentioned above would be a great start, but if it’s one which needs further work, let’s revisit a belief you feel needs changing and include the steps below which will keep the new and improved belief be in the forefront of your mind.

 Reflection Point:

Think of one belief that you have which doesn’t allow you feel good inside and you feel comfortable and ready to let go of it and transform it into one which serves you.

1. Rewrite the belief you would much rather have. The ‘Clockface Technique’ can help you if one doesn’t immediately come to mind.

2. Write that new and improved belief on little pieces of paper and display them in places you see often.

3. Repeat the new belief to yourself regularly.

Affirm: I open myself up to allow beliefs that serve me in a loving way.

Can you imagine the confidence and courage you have access to, now you have your improved, brand new belief!

I find myself needing to really keep a track of beliefs, because an unhelpful one can easily find it’s way in my thoughts. Being inner aware is the key… and the moment I feel my energy becoming heavy, I ask my higher intuitive self ‘What’s going on here?’, and ‘What do I need to do?’ and sometimes the answer is “You need a nap”. 🙂

4.  People Give Love in the Way They Like To Receive Love

When I learnt that others give love in the way they like to receive love, it created a shift within me.  It helped me understand people who I thought were being quite cold, when in fact they simply gave love in a different way than me.  This is especially useful when you have a partner whose family is completely different to your own.

I now consciously observe and acknowledge the different ways in which people love.

Reflection Point:

Take a moment to reflect on the way different people love you.

When you notice the ‘little things’ people do, you may discover that you feel more loved than ever. Acknowledging those little things to yourself with a moment of gratitude is a wonderful feeling habit to have.

Affirm: I allow others to love in their own unique way.

Recognising how other people, especially your family and friends ‘love’ is understanding them better, and is also an act of love from you to them.

My husband’s family is so very different from my family. The differences I found very challenging until I realised that different tribes have different rules… or guidelines perhaps is a better word.

I had elderly parents, and my older siblings always were making sure I grew up being helpful to them, and each other. We didn’t really have any boundaries, and my sisters, mum, dad, and I could all weave around each other in the kitchen, or outside with some task or another… and be there to anticipate the next move. This was normal to us and it felt like a loving act.

But this drives my husband Shane mad!

When he’s in the kitchen, I’m to keep out! And I often receive the command “Stop anticipating!” when we are doing a project together.

I found it fascinating, wherein one family it’s an act of love, and in another, it’s a nightmare.

Shane explains that he has a two-metre boundary around him when he’s focused on a task, and would prefer three.  And I’m not to anticipate! I’ve learnt to let him be and if he needs me, he’ll call.

It’s hilarious.

5.  Consciously Allow Love

The first day I learnt that I could consciously allow more love into my life, I decided to dedicate that particular day to giving it a go.  I set about consciously allowing myself to receive.  The outcome was a complete surprise to me…

… I imagined myself sending love to every person I met, every person I spoke to, and every person who walked into the building I worked in that day (which consequently became my daily morning practice).  This became the most fascinating experiment to practice on ‘me’.

I was working for a very large firm as a receptionist at the time.  On that very first day, I received the most beautiful smiles, and two different clients came in with a take away coffee for me in their hand!

It was amazing!  That had never happened before!  The building we worked in had other tenants, and I found people would turn right, instead of straight ahead to where they were meant to go – and turn up at my desk with a smile, not knowing why they were standing there! I would often hear “I don’t know why I’m here?!”

I’m sure they were following my trail of love.  Sometimes, depending on how I felt, I had the courage to say “Oh, that’s because I sent love to you this morning in my meditation.” That was always received with a smile.

Simply by energetically sending love,  you open yourself up to allow for more!

6.  Love people for who they are, not who you want them to be

The ego might feel a bit better casting blame on another, but the outcome never has any value.  The only way forward is to give people permission to be who they are, foibles and all!

You may find yourself holding resistance in the form of angst or resentment, and when you do, you are amplifying that very behavior in them.

I discovered this lesson when my husband Shane (who has a tendency to overreact), was experiencing something which had made him angry.  He looked at me and said “Babe I know you don’t want me to be angry!” as he was ready to burst, when I replied with “Go for it hon’, you can get angry!” at that point his anger completely dissolved!

It seems that when he feels I don’t want him to be angry, it’s harder for him to resist the anger, but if I give him permission to be angry… it miraculously disappears!

I wish I had learnt this lesson thirty years ago☺.

Anger is an important emotion for us to have, so please receive this personal experience as an example of how we can enflame a negative reaction in another… by wanting them to change – without realising it.

Loving people for who they are, and not wishing them to change helps resolve that.

We are truly only responsible for how we are, and how we react as an individual, so by silently giving others permission, removes your resistence of angst etc, and softens your energy… and creates a different outcome.

Reflection Point:

Is there someone in your family you tend to have challenges with?

If so, mentally give them permission to be who they are. Jut imagine telling their soul, “I give you permission to be whoever you are” and “I love you for who you are”… and observe the outcome, just as an experiment.

You may choose to keep a physical distance from them, healthy boundaries are important. You don’t need to be with them in order to send them love.

Affirm: I send you love and have no expectations in return.

7.  Forgive People

Carrying around a painful cord of attachment from issues of the past is agonising and draining.

When you create forgiveness, you are not condoning a person’s bad behaviour.  You are releasing this cord which frees your heart and this helps heal your emotional body and your heart.

It truly is the most miraculous discovery once you know how.

If you have a memory or a series of memories which carry a heavy burden for you, you may need help to forgive.  My program of online courses called ‘Path to Heart Based Power’ will show you how, but first let’s begin with activating your intuition, which is the first course and it’s free. The details are below.
